About Wren V. McCallister, M.D.

 

Wren V. McCallister, M.D. is a fellowship-trained Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in care of the hand and upper extremity.  Dr. McCallister is eligible for the ABOS Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery (CAQ-Hand Surgery).

A native of the Seattle area, Dr. McCallister completed both his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Washington, where he also completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and advanced post-graduate subspecialty fellowship training in Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity. 

Dr. McCallister has authored over 80 scientific works with a focus on care of the hand and upper extremity. He has been the recipient of multiple nationally-competitive research awards and research grants and he has lectured regionally and nationally on conditions of the hand and upper extremity.

Dr. McCallister is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association for Hand Surgery and Washington State Medical Association.

Dr. McCallister serves as a Consultant Reviewer for the peer-reviewed journal HAND, the official journal of the American Association for Hand Surgery.

In addition to general orthopedic care, Dr. McCallister provides complete care of the hand and upper extremity, including nerve and tendon disorders (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger), fractures, sports-related injuries, arthritis, arthroscopy and minimally-invasive surgery (endoscopic carpal tunnel release).
